Katrin (Kate) McElderry, serves on the Outreach Team at The Odyssey School and tutors language skills to dyslexic students in and outside of the classroom. She also serves on the board of directors for the International Dyslexia Association (IDA).  Kate has a B.A. in anthropology and environmental biology, and a M.A. from UMBC, where she served as a graduate assistant in the education department. Prior to this, Kate did curriculum development and teacher training as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay, South America as well as northern California. She is trained in Orton-Gillingham, Phono-Graphix, Spell-Links and the EmPOWER writing program. Collaborating with educators and non-profit organizations both domestically and internationally on the topics of dyslexia, learning differences, self-advocacy, and intellectual risk-taking, is one of Kate’s passions. Outside of work, Kate enjoys dancing, biking, traveling and spending time with her family.
